West Indies vs Sri Lanka 1st Test at Guyana

Sri Lanka win first Caribbean Test

Sri Lanka created history by winning their first ever Test match in the Caribbean, as they eased to a 121-run victory over the West Indies on the final day of the opening Test in Guyana.
Sri Lanka, eyeing a Test series victory for the first time in the Caribbean, have lost two and drawn two of their previous four Tests in the region, but would not be denied victory this time around as fast bowler Chaminda Vaas played a starring role with the ball. Vaas took 5 for 61 in 22.2 overs, while prolific leg-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan snared 3 for 112 from 45 overs, as the West Indies, chasing an unlikely 437 for victory, were dismissed for 315 in their second innings just 5.4 overs before the scheduled close of play.
The second and final Test of the series begins on April 3 at Port of Spain.
First Test, Guyana, day five (close): Sri Lanka 476-8d & 240-7d bt West Indies 280 & 315 by 121 runs
